Glacier Gateway Motel is strategically situated on the Main Road (State Highway 6), 500m south of the village, in beautiful scenic Franz Josef in the South Island region of South Westland, New Zealand. Situated beside the Wahio River and on the edge of a National Park, the glacier access road is conveniently located directly beside Glacier Gateway Motor Lodge.

Ranging from family sized two bedroom cottages down to single studio units; Glacier Gateway has accommodation to suit the requirements of most travelers. Modern studio units sleep 1 - 3 people and a unit for the disabled is also available. Each studio has an ensuite with shower and toilet and the majority of these rooms are also equipped with a microwave. Two units are fitted with spa baths - perfect for couples seeking a bit of romance on a chilly night or trampers wanting to soak their tired body! The one bedroom units and two bedroom family cottages have full cooking facilities and are ideal for groups or families staying in Franz Josef.

All rooms are well heated and each have a television, in-house video, telephone, fridge, electric blankets, separate ensuite bathroom plus tea and coffee making facilities. Guest rooms are serviced daily and are non-smoking.
